The summer months in both New Zealand and Australia is between December and February, and this is a great time to visit New Zealand. However for Australia, I would recommend visiting at the end or just before summer as the heat gets very intense if you aren’t used to it. Realistically, these are two of the most incredible countries on earth and no matter when you go it’ll be an excellent experience.

If you really want to experience these two countries to their entirety, I’m going to have to say to rent a vehicle for yourself. If this is too expensive, don’t worry because you can use InterCity Bus in New Zealand, and domestic flights in Australia which will still allow you to see most of the best spots.
